Irene J. Lent, a lifelong resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into rest on Monday, December 17, 2012. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Hubert and Elsie Howe O’Dell, she was born on February 2, 1924 in Ellenville, NY.
Irene and her soulmate Frank, also of Cornwall-on-Hudson, were married for 67 years. She worked at Cornwall Hospital for over 20 years as a nurse’s aid. She was a dedicated and loving person to everyone that she cared for.
Her first love was her family, and her second love was travelling with Frank – spending winters in Florida and driving to California. Irene enjoyed doing craft shows. She had an amazing gift for sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include; her son Francis; four daughters, Irene, Kathleen, Susan and Mary; her beloved granddaughter Megan; grandchildren Kelly, Michael, Robbie, Jennifer, Sharon and J.J.; and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank H. Lent.
The family would like to thank all of the special people at Campbell Hall Nursing Home and Orange Regional Medical Center who cared so lovingly for Irene.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6 – 8pm at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
