Obituaries: Vincent Lawrence Franklin

Vincent Lawrence Franklin of Cornwall, N.Y., a Retired Captain with the N.Y.C. Fire Department, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at home. He was 75 years old.
The son of Anthony V. Franklin and Margaret T. Henry Franklin, Vincent was born May 30, 1937. He was married to Theresa Franklin, who survives him at home.
Vincent started his career with N.Y.P.D. for three years, then spent 33 years with The New York Fire Department. He was a member of Holy Name Society of New York, NY; St. Peter & Paul grade school; Cardinal Hayes Alumni, all of the Bronx. He later attended City College of New York, N.Y.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Franklin at home; daughters, Margaret Gawryszewski and husband, Jim of GA, and Patricia Heinze and her husband, Tim of CT; brother, John M. Franklin of Middletown, NY; grandchildren, Maeve and Mairead Gawryszewski, Rowan, Liam and Clare Heinze. He was predeceased by a daughter, Alannah Marie Franklin.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church , 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Burial to follow the mass in St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, N.Y.
