1. Why are you running for a position as library trustee?
I am running for this position as Library Trustee because I believe that the library is the intellectual and moral lifeblood of a community. We in Cornwall are fortunate to have a very active Library which offers numerous programs and activities for residents of all ages. I would like to be part of the vibrant team which brings this full and well-rounded agenda to the people of our Town and Village.
2. Why do you think that you can make a difference in the library's future?
The field of aspirants for the open posts appears to have a great deal of talent and enthusiasm, I think I would be a good fit for the Board of Trustees because of my background as an educator, journalist, and author. I have in recent years worked for the Department of Corrections and had a career in retail sales and management. I currently serve as Director of Marketing for Simoni's International Fashions, a prestigious New York-based clothier. I think my educational, business, and entertainment skills would be an asset to the Library Board.
3. Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a retired Secondary School English and Special Ed teacher. I have had journeyman careers as a newspaper editor, advertising manager, salesman, community activist, aide to a NYS Governor, entertainer, and volunteer. I currently teach Religious Education at St. Thomas of Canterbury School and facilitate an Adult Bible Study class at the Church. I have a Classic Pop-Rock Band, AVENGER, and am active with the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Lions and UNICO, an Italian American service organization. My wife Bernadine and I reside in Cornwall and are the parents of four and
grandparents of six.
