Police in New Windsor have arrested a suspect in the robbery of the Hudson Valley Credit Union on Route 32 that occurred shortly before 11:30 this morning. The credit union is located at 265 Windsor Highway at the intersection of Willow Lane.
The suspect handed the teller a note demanding cash, took an undisclosed amount of money, and fled.
Police say that a city of Newburgh police officer spotted a man matching the description of the suspect at the Imperial Motel on Broadway near Route 9W in Newburgh. New Windsor officers identified the suspect from the surveillance photos seen here.
Police say that Ivan Jackson, 30, of Newburgh, still had the backpack used in the robbery with $2,000 inside and that he admitted to robbing the credit union.
