October 25, 2011
Incredible father, grandfather, and brother, as well as proud Civil Engineer, Cosimo was peacefully led by the hand of God to be re-united with his beloved wife, Paula on October 23, 2011. He was 68. He was born February 23, 1943 in Bagheria, Sicily, to the late Joseph and Antonetta Bartolone, and was a longtime resident of Cornwall and Highland Falls, NY, where he married Paula, and they together made their life, and raised their family.
He is survived by three sons, Joseph Bartolone of Stone Ridge, NY, and Louis and Anthony Bartolone, both of Merritt Island, FL; two sisters, Mary Digilio of Boca Raton, FL, and Angela Gilbert of New Windsor, NY; and one brother, Frank Bartolone of Lake Worth, FL. He is also survived by his two loving granddaughters, Claire Bartolone, age 9, and Emily Bartolone, age 6, who both miss their "Pop-Pop" very much.
Known affectionately as "Uncle Coz" to his nine nieces and nephews, as well as their spouses, and many dear friends, Cosimo was a devoted man of family, who would stop at nothing to do whatever he could for anyone that asked.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Visiting hours Wednesday, October 26, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at Quigley Brothers Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Cosimo's memory to either the Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Road, Kingston, NY 12401, www.ucspca.org; or Family of Woodstock, 16 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY 12498, www.familyofwoodstockinc.org.
