David R. Rant, 63, of New Windsor, NY passed away at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital Cornwall Campus on October 20, 2011.
Mr. Rant was an Attorney and Professor with Mt. St. Mary's College Newburgh, NY. He was married to Marcia Joan Rubnitz Rant.
Son of Wallace Rant and Lois Buck Rant, he was born on June 1, 1948 in Bayshore, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Rubintz at home; brother, Jeffrey Rant and his wife, Lorraine of Coram, NY; sister-in-law, Phyllis Rubnitz and husband, Arthur Fowler of Walden, NY; brother-in-law, William Rubnitz of Cornwall, NY; nieces, Kate Yates and Emily Rant and nephew, Jeffrey Rant; also his dog, "Molly"
Mr. Rant was a former science teacher at North Junior High School in Newburgh, taught at Iona College in New Rochelle, was a professor on staff with Mt. St. Mary's College in Newburgh, and Council President with King of Kings Church in New Windsor. He was a member of the Ethics Board (Town of New Windsor) and life long lover of Sports.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday October 23 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 24 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 543 Union Ave., New Windsor with Pastor Mary Lou Baumgartner.
