Explore the world of a live colony of honeybees at a new World of Bees Exhibit at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum that will launch with a grand opening on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25, 2011.
Visitors to the exhibit will be able to see the live colony of honeybees in a thriving observation hive and learn about the fascinating life cycle of the honeybee, its colony structure and social hierarchy. The display will also help the public to understand how important honeybees are to human existance, providing the pollinate necessary for plants to reproduce themselves.
The display also includes many interactive elements including hive cells for children to crawl through and large replicas of bees and their young. During the two-day grand opening celebration, games, crafts and refreshments will be available at the exhibit, which is located at the Museum’s Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
