General News: Three Republicans in Tuesday's Primary Vote
September 12, 2011
Tuesday, September 13, is primary day across New York State and here in Cornwall the Republicans are holding a primary vote to elect their candidates for two seats on the Cornwall town board.
Three long-time residents of the town are running in the primary. Incumbent council members Randy Clark and J. Kerry McGuinness face a challenge from Elizabeth Longinott, who is stepping down as receiver of taxes after 33 years. A brief profile of each of the candidates is available by clicking here.
Polls are open on Tuesday from 6 am to 9 pm and voters in District 3 and District 11 in Mountainville will have to go to Munger Cottage to cast their votes. The polling station for those districts, the Mountainville fire house, was damaged during Tropical Storm Irene and will not be in operation for the primary vote.
