Police have charged a New Windsor man with second degree assault after he allegedly struck another man with a pistol on Sunday.
Police responded to the area near 52 Willow Avenue after they received a report of an assault in the parking lot of that address around 5:15 pm. The police found a person in the parking lot who claimed to have been hit with a pistol, and added the person who had attacked him was 33-year-old Ernesto Guzman. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital and treated for his injuries.
Guzaman turned himself in to Cornwall police later that evening. He was charged with second degree felony assault and released on $1500 bail.
