General News: Fire Fighters to Fill the Boot

Storm King Fire Engine Company #2 is raising money to purchase a thermal imaging camera that can be use to see through smoke to find victims, pinpoint fires and recognize structural damage.
If you see Storm King Firefighters standing in the middle of the road with fire boots in hand they are fundraising to purchase the $12,000 camera.
To date, the “Fill the Boot” campaign has raised almost $2,000. Fire Chief Jeff Armitage in a statement that “any size contribution you make to our boot drive could help save a life.”
Storm King Firefighters hope to have enough funds to purchase one by 2012 at no cost to taxpayers.
