Graham Kelder attends nearly every session of the Cornwall town board and now he thinks that he can do the job of supervisor. That’s why he says that, at the urging of several supporters, he has decided to run for the supervisor’s office, forcing a primary election in the Republic party if he has to.
Kelder, an 83-year-old Navy veteran, monitors the business of Cornwall government as a regular at all town board meetings and thinks that he can do a better job than supervisor Kevin Quigley.
He also says that he had considered running for a board seat – something he held for one term back in the 1980s. Neither he nor Randy Clark, an incumbent board member, were endorsed by the Cornwall Republic Committee last month and Kelder says he wants to give Randy a full shot to get on ballot.
So, as soon as petitions are available on June 7, Kelder says he will start getting signatures for his bid for supervisor.
