James R. Cutler, of Rock Tavern, NY, passed away on May 2, 2011 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was 74 years old.
Cutler was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Cornwall Yacht Club where he served as Commodore from 1988-89 and 1998-99. He was also a member of the BPOE Elks in Middletown, NY and the past president of the Middletown Bowling Association.
He was the son of James Charles Cutler and Mabel Lutz Cutler, born in Kingston, NY on January 1, 1937.
He is survived by his wife, Aggie McComb Cutler at home; daughters: Karen Cutler Gauvin and her husband David, of MD, Christine Lynn Griffin and husband John , of NC, Jan Marie Whaley and her husband Thomas, of Elmira, NY, and Melissa Dale Durr and husband Mitc, of Bloomingburg, NY; brothers: William and David Cutler, both of Westtown, NY, and Preston Cutler, of GA; sisters: Mary Bachmann, of KY, Mabel Conklin, of TX and Jane Cutler, of Ridgebury, NY; grandsons Andrew James Gauvin and Matthew Thomas Gauvin , Collin James, Ian Andrew, and Bhrett Patrick Griffin; granddaughters: Andrea Hockenberry and Kaitlyn McCoy. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Cutler.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, at 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am at the funeral home on Thursday, May 5, 2011.Cremation to follow in Cedar Hill, Newburgh, NY . Contributions to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan , 800 Stonybrook Ct, Newburgh NY
