Obituaries: Eileen Margaret Furlong

Eileen Margaret Furlong, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, formerly of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, and a Stevensville, MD resident for the past two years, died at her home on Thursday, March 4, 2010 after a long battle with brain cancer. She was 56.
Ms. Furlong was born June 2, 1953 in Newburgh, to the late George L. and Marion Furlong. She was a 1971 graduate of Cornwall Central High School and a 1978 graduate of SUNY New Paltz. Ms. Furlong was employed by CIGNA for 25 years and worked for Stone's Agency in Cornwall before her illness struck in 2007.
Ms. Furlong is survived by her brothers and sisters: Martha DePuy of Stevensville, MD, Joan Furlong and her husband, Stephen Tinius of Washington, DC, Dan Furlong and his wife, Kathy of Ironia, NJ, Dr. Nancy Furlong of Alfred, NY, Lorraine and her husband, Tim Benton of Greer, SC, Connie and her husband, Pete Brushaber of Greer, SC, John Furlong and his wife, Diane of Newburgh, and Chuck Furlong of Clifton, NJ. Eileen was a devoted aunt to Matt and Catherine DePuy, Dan Furlong Jr. and his wife, Christine, Lauren Furlong, Jessica, Mike and Steve Brushaber, Paul and Joe Benton, Patrick and Kelly Furlong.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Christopher's Church, Chester, MD on Monday, March 8, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Thomas of Canterbury Cemetery in Cornwall.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of Queen Anne's, 255 Comet Dr., Centreville, MD 21617, or to the American Cancer Society.
