Phyllis Ann Miller, a homemaker and resident of Cornwall, entered into rest on March 6, 2010, at home. She was 88.
The daughter of Arlington Lane MacBride and Belva Lillian MacBride, she was born June 21, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the widow of Thomas O. Miller.
Survivors include her daughters: Anne Couturier & companion, Anthony "Chick" Napolitano of New Windsor, Wendy Zeller & husband, Joseph of Enterprise, AL; son, Jay C. Maxson & companion, Mary Lou Kendall of Landsdale, PA; stepsons: Bruce Miller & wife, Shirley of Middletown and Tom Miller & wife, Cathy of Doylestown, PA; brothers: William MacBride & wife, Virginia of Ft. Washington, PA and Rodger MacBride & wife, Helen of York, PA; her first husband, Crawford Maxson of Chalfont, PA; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Maxson of West Palm Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; numerous niece and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her nephew, Peter Lane MacBride; niece, Nancy Zarr Mabe; sisters, Elizabeth Herr & Jeanne Zarr.
Phyllis was a member of the Mountainville Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the Cornwall Hospital for 20 years; joined Quassaick Chapter, DAR on April 17, 1976; served as Chapter Regent 1938-1986, Elected Honorary Chapter Regent for Life 1995, Served as Chapter Vice Regent, Chaplain and Secretary, Chapter Chairman DAR Good Citizen 1979, Served the New York State Organization State District IX Director 1986-1989, also State Chairwoman Christopher Columbus Quincentennial Commemorative 1993. She was an accomplished Artist who studied under John Gould for 30 years.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson. Services will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home, with The Rev. Darlene Resling of Mountainville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA.
