Bernadette L. Kline, 90, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, a retired Nursing Supervisor RN with Cornwall Hospital, died February 2, 2010 at home.
The daughter of John N. McAskill and Anne Curney, she was born November 7, 1919 in Quincy, MA. She married Michael H. Kline on February 6, 1947; they were married for almost 63 years.
Bernadette was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson; Catholic Daughters of America; and Court Rita #264, Cornwall. She served her country as a U.S. Army RN with 119 General Hospital, England for returning veterans from the Normandy D-Day and Battle of the Bulge from 1944-48, later returning to the U.S. Army Hospital at West Point, NY.
Survivors include her husband, Michael H. Kline, at home; sons: John M. Kline & wife, Elizabeth of Irvine, CA and James K. Kline & wife, MaryAnn of Cornwall; daughter, Jane Deierlein & husband, James of Columbia, SC; brother, Rev. Kenneth McAskill of Cambridge, MA; sister, Leonie McNeil of Weymouth, MA; grandchildren: Amanda Theodore & Eric, Jason Deierlein & Sally B Deierlein; and great-grandchildren, Alexis & Michael Theodore.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, February 5, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
