Dorothy V. Henson of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, passed away on June 23, 2009 at Campbell Hall Care Center, Campbell Hall, NY. She was 84.
The daughter of George Dougan and Nellie Brockelbank Dougan, she was born July 8, 1924, in Newburgh, NY.
Dorothy was a retired laundry worker with the U.S.M.A. in West Point. She volunteered with Cornwall Hospital for 25 years and was a member of Golden Age Club of Cornwall. She also served as president and vice president of Hillcrest Rebekah Lodge, where she also served as a soloist for the Lodge.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Jannarone and her husband, Robert, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and her sister, Ruth Dougan. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane Wotten.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 an 7-9 p.m., Friday, June 26, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 27 at the First Baptist Church, corner of South & West St., Newburgh with Rev. Dennis Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
