Anthony P. Cocchiara (“Tony C”), a beloved husband for more than 40 years, lost his valiant battle with cancer on November 26, 2007.
He was born in New York City and was predeceased by his mother, father and two sisters. He leaves his wife, Geraldine, and two daughters, Dina Gage and her husband Kevin of Hurley, N.Y., and Toni Gallagher, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.
He also leaves behind his beloved granddaughter, Amanda Casey Horan, of Salisbury Mills, N.Y. Anthony loved going to her swim meets. Cocchiara and his wife lived in Nanuet for 27 years before moving to Cornwall. He retired from Con Edison after working there for 44 years and was an active member in the Boys & Girls Club of NY.
Cocchiara’s greatest love was volunteering at West Point Golf Course on Saturday mornings and spending the day there. He made many friends there and his laugh, smile, and good humor will be missed by all who knew him. Hew was wonderful husband and a great father.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 28, from 2t o 7 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St, Cornwall-On-Hudson NY 12520. Funeral service, a Mass of Christian Burial, will be Thursday, November 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph‘s Catholic Church on Union Ave and Route 9W, New Windsor, N.Y.
Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y. Contributions to: Hospice of Orange & Sullivan, 800 Stonybrook Ct., Newburgh, N.Y. 12550.
