Mary L. Smyth, of New Windsor, NY entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2018 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. She was 71 years old.
The daughter of Mary (Carey) Dowd and the late Thomas Dowd, Mary was born on August 17, 1947 in Bronx, NY.
Mary was a retired Secretary in the Cornwall Central School District in Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.
Mary is survived by her son: Christopher S. Smyth and his wife Kimberly of Cornwall, NY; her daughter: Andrea J. Turso and her husband Robert of New Windsor, NY; her grandchildren: Reese, Maeve and Dylan; her sisters: Dorothy Walker, Joan Dowd and Diane DeCarlo; and her brother: Gerard Dowd. Mary was predeceased by her brothers: Raymond and Thomas Dowd.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 27th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
