Dorothy Schlemmer of Cornwall, NY entered into rest on Thursday, September 14, 2017. She was 92.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Silhan, she was born on September 20, 1924 in East Islip, Long Island.
Dorothy owned the Canterbury Snack Shop in Cornwall. She was a member of the Mountainville United Methodist Church, the ladies auxiliary of the Mountainville Fire Co., as well as the Republican Club.
Dorothy loved her family dearly, including her dogs. She also enjoyed her time spent down at the river with her friends.
Survivors include: her son Douglas Schlemmer, daughter Sandra Flemming, grandchildren: Emma and Ellie Schlemmer, and Jason Zimmardi; and great-grandson Joseph Zimmardi. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Schlemmer.
Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, September 22 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 23 at the Mountainville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
