Michael “Noel” Farrell, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on September 20, 2016 at his home. He was 71 years old.
The son of the late James and Margaret Farrell, Noel was born on December 31, 1944 in Damerstown, County Kilkenny, Ireland.
He was an active member of the Cornwall Community and St. Thomas of Canterbury Church. Noel is a world renowned chef who has cooked for the likes of the Rockefellers, in 5 star resort hotels in Hawaii and even the President of the United States. Noel was an honor graduate at St. Mary's Hotel College in Ireland. He served at The Gresham Hotel and Strand Hotel in Ireland and went onto Frankfurt, Germany to complete his apprenticeship. Noel traveled to Hawaii where he met the love of his life while cooking at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Noel and Pamelyn then traveled to the mainland where he was an executive chef at Lincoln Center in NYC. Noel was then chosen for a special assignment at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. He was 1 of 5 chefs selected to cater the candlelight dinner for President Reagan's Inauguration. Later, He was partner at Chelsea on the Hudson in West Nyack and was most recently known for the many years he owned Noel's Restaurant in Stony Point, NY.
Our dad was caring, loving and hardest working man we know. He will be deeply missed.
Noel is survived by his loving wife, Pamelyn G. Farrell, at home; his daughters, Kimberly Maniscalchi (Gaspar) and Tara Farrell. sons, Michael Troy Farrell, Darren Farrell and Kevin Farrell (Chrystal); his grandchildren, Tori, Jordan and Xavier; brothers, Dennis, Liam, Canice, Sean, Seamus and Kieran; sisters, Molly and Sara.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Cremation will follow at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties or Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation.
