Mary Jane Hahn, lifelong resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2016, with her loving family at her side. She was 76 years old.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Gogarty Board, Mary Jane was born on June 25, 1939 in Cornwall, NY.
Mary Jane attended and graduated from Cornwall Central High School, class of 1957.
Affectionately know as "Chickie", she loved cooking, baking, interior decorating, shopping, her girlfriends, her "Louie", bed buddies, her Bose, tickles and most of all her beloved children.
Mary Jane is survived by her loving, childhood sweetheart and devoted husband of 56 years, Charles R. "Rudy" Hahn; her children: Amy B. Hahn of Wappingers Falls, NY, SusanBeth Olsen and husband, Scott of Niskayuna, NY, Joel T. Hahn of Cornwall, NY, Kurt W. Hahn and wife, Laura of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY, and Britta H. Hahn and boyfriend, Jed Seltzer of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY; four grandchildren: Hans and Anders Olsen, Devin and Michelina Jane Hahn; and two nephews: Michael and Timothy Board. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Board.
We would like to thank all who gave us help with mom in her later years, including Dr. John Savino and his team at Westchester Medical Center, Dr. James Nitzkorski and the team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Dr. Sashi Makam and the Horizon Family Medical Group, everyone at Willcare and St. Luke's Cornwall Newburgh campus, the Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and the Storm King Engine Company.
Although mom battled an extended illness, she faced these challenges with great dignity, courage and strength.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 19th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 20th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520; Father Rees Doughty will officiate. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary Jane's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
