Notes from the Town Of Cornwall Board Meeting
Solar update, a Letter of Intent, and an Updated Paving schedule.

CORNWALL, NY – On Monday, July 13th, the town held their monthly board meeting. Town Supervisor, Randy Clark, was not in attendance and James McGee sat in to read the resolutions.
The Board is moving ahead with their plans of Solar Energy with Attorney Dan Spitzer, of HodgsonRuss LLP. Spitzer specializes in Renewable Energy and Environmental Law. Once the Board finalizes his contract, he will be hired for the further advancement of the Town’s Solar Energy prospect.
Though there are rumors of NYMA being purchased for $13.9 million by an obscure company, the Town Board is still interested in purchasing NYMA for the town. The Board will be sending a “Letter of Intent” stating that the Town of Cornwall would like to purchase NYMA for $9 million. Who purchases NYMA is not up to the academy, the Bankruptcy Court decides which offer will benefit NYMA the most. This means the Town may still have a chance to purchase NYMA, so long as the Board remains in constant contact with the Court.
The Town of Cornwall Highway Department will be spending the rest of the summer and fall re-paving. The roads to be paved are as follows: Russell St, Harold Ave, Beach St, and Quaker Ave. Those that live along these streets, or use them regularly, be prepared for detours and delays. If the Department finishes these roads in enough time, with enough money left in the budget, Pelham Drive may be re-paved as well. However, if Pelham isn’t repaved this year, it will be first on the re-pave list next year.
