General News: Town of Cornwall Board Meeting

CORNWALL, NY – On Monday, April 13th, the Cornwall Town Board held their monthly board meeting. With the warm weather finally here to stay, quite a crowd was gathered in the courtroom.
The Board approved the town’s Arbor Day celebrations. On Friday, April 24th, the Conservation Committee will be planting three 12ft tall trees in the Cornwall Dog Park. The celebration is set to kick off at 4pm, so come on over and join in.
The Girl Scouts wish to put up seasonal benches in the park as their Girl Scout Silver Project. The Board has approved the project, however the only concern that remains is how to make these benches mobile for their seasonal use.
On May 30th Sands Ring Homestead will be hosting an “Antiques Roadshow” fundraising event. It will be held on the Homestead grounds from1-5pm, weather permitting. Certified Appraiser, Jon Felz, of the PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, will be on hand; appraising family heirlooms, fine art, and other collectibles that attendees bring. The cost is $10 for two items and the proceeds will go towards the Sands Ring Homestead Restoration Project. If you have any questions or concerns call : (845)534-4388
The Board has also set a date for Community Shred Day. It will be held on Saturday, June 13th, at the Town Hall from 1-4pm
