CSX Railroad Track Department personnel were at Dock Street Grade Crossing at the southern entrance to Donahue Riverfront Park today, making temporary repairs to the crossing road pavement as well as temporary repairs to the gauge of the track (running rails which are too wide to conform to track specifications).
This necessitated the closure of Dock Street to all traffic. It is unknown when they will return to complete repairs.
Track personnel were originally going to replace the rails on the crossing with a preassembled section that has been sitting at the crossing for the past year, but due to the frequency of freight train service, were unable to do so today. It is unknown when they will do do.
