Shanna Abeles Joins Staff of the Orange County Land Trust
Mountainville, NY (OCLT) – Shanna Abeles of Cornwall, NY has joined the staff of the Orange County Land Trust as Conservation Project Manager.
Ms. Abeles comes to OCLT with a broad range of experience in project management in the non-profit sector, including positions with the Wildlife Conservation Society, Zoo New England, and the Boston Museum of Science. As a project management consultant in New York and Washington, D.C., Ms. Abeles has worked on real estate, fine arts, and land conservation projects.
As Conservation Project Manager, Ms. Abeles will enable the Land Trust to increase its capacity to take on more land protection projects by working with landowners and conservation partners.
“We are thrilled that Shanna has joined our team,” stated Executive Director Jim Delaune. “The addition of a Conservation Projtect Manager to help streamline projects and provide direct support to our Director of Conservation and Stewardship will keep us efficient, diligent, and swift.”
Ms. Abeles has a B.A. from Northeastern University and holds a New York real estate license. She is also an active member of the Cornwall Conservation Advisory Council (CCAC), where she recently helped create a Natural Resources Inventory for the Town of Cornwall, in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program.
Orange County Land Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Orange County's diverse habitats, watersheds, wildlife corridors, and working farmland through conservation easements with willing landowners.
